| LRT 2 Construction near SM Masinag |
Properties located in the east, e.g. Cainta, Antipolo, Cogeo, Marikina, etc., will most probably enjoy a boost in prices within the year 2017. The reason? The creation of two (2) extra stations on the LRT 2 or Purple line, namely:
- Emerald Station in Cainta (will link directly to Sta. Lucia and Robinsons Metro East)
- Masinag Station in Antipolo (will link directly to SM Masinag)

... is expected to be completed by the third quarter of 2017. The entire extension from Santolan all the way to Masinag is finished. All that is missing are the two new stations; Emerald (Sta. Lucia) and SM Masinag Stations and the electric posts that will hold the main electric power source of the trains. Most of the closed inner lines under the elevated railway were now opened to the motorist thus improving traffic flow condition. The rain drain pipes are now also installed.
And, not only is the expansion eastward. There are also plans to add three (3) stations after the present end-of-the-line Recto station. Rappler reports:
The project will have a total length of approximately 3.02 kilometers and with 3 proposed additional stations that includes Tutuban (next to the Cluster Mall); Divisoria (west of the Recto Avenue and Asuncion Street intersection); and Pier 4 (located 50 meters north of Zaragoza Street).
