Why I Often Choose Uber versus Grab

Secret Destination The biggest advantage of Uber over Grab is the fact that its drivers are assigned to riders without knowing their destination. This becomes essential when you need to go to an unpopular drop off point such as the BIR RDO 45 in Marikina or Alabang.

Since Grab drivers know beforehand where you're going, they will most likely not accept the ride, leaving you stranded. On the other hand, Uber is more service oriented in the sense that it will assign a driver to you as long as the destination is within its service area.

Change of Destination Allowed There was a time when I was on my way to a meeting only to have it canceled during the trip. If I had been riding Grab, I would not have been able to change my destination. However, since I was on an Uber X  (ride is not shared with other passenger/s), I was able to change the destination so I could run personal errands instead.

Additional Stops Allowed Moreover, unlike Grab, Uber X allows the rider the freedom to make additional stops. For example, I once had to pick up some printed materials in San Juan before proceeding to a meeting in Makati. I just made sure to inform the Uber driver of the multiple stops so he won't click 'End Trip' once we arrive in San Juan. He was very accommodating while I dashed in and out of the printing office. After waiting a couple of minutes, we were on our way to Makati.

Automatic Fare Adjustment Upon ordering an Uber ride, the client is presented with a fare estimate. However, if the actual fare is lower, Uber will automatically adjust the fare. For example, I once ordered an UberPOOL ride with a fare estimate of Php 42. After alighting, I was pleasantly surprised to find out my fare had been lowered to Php 38.

Excellent Tech Support True, Uber does not have a number that you can call. However, it's been my experience that Uber's tech support will resolve any issue in less than 12 hours. Sometimes, in seconds, such as that time when I complained that I had been incorrectly charged with a cancellation fee. As soon as I clicked 'Driver Cancelled,' the amount for the cancellation fee was immediately credited to me by Uber.

BPI Requirements for Claim to Account of Deceased Depositor

The Bank of the Philippine Islands (BPI) branch at the Philippine Stock Exchange in Ortigas, Pasig City kindly provided me with the list of requirements on how to claim the funds of a depositor who has passed away. Please note that copies of all the listed documents must be submitted to BPI, so, make sure you have xeroxed copies of the originals when you visit the bank.

BDO Requirements for Claim to Account of Deceased Depositor

It is customary for a bank to freeze a depositor's account once the bank officials learn of the depositor's death. This can become a great burden for the family since the funds cannot be withdrawn until certain documentary requirements are met. (And a very good reason to open an ATM account with a co-depositor you trust.) In the event that a Banco de Oro account is frozen due to the death of the depositor, the following are the mandatory documents before the heirs can withdraw from the deceased's BDO account:
